Introducing Wilson and Pootle

A Monster tale….

Pootlepress is now 5 years old. Our purpose in life is to make running successful websites easier for our customers. We’ve been wanting to personalise the Pootlepress brand so that it tells our customers stories more effectively across social and digital media. So for the past few months we’ve been working up some concepts that you’ll start to see on the pootlepress.com website and on social media.

The initial sketches

We wanted to personalise this idea that technology is often scary, but with the right guide it can be tamed.

So after lots of thinking this is what we came up with. The idea (hopefully obvious) is that pootle – the little girl in the picture – has tamed the big scary monster – agreed he’s not that scary, but that’s the point 🙂

One of the things we wanted to achieve was a hand drawn look and feel. We also wanted to avoid the very clean vector design that you see on many WordPress company websites. Pootle has lots of very personal relationships with our customers and we really wanted the design to reflect this.

Wilson and pootle are born

Once we had agreed on the concept then the next stage was to work up some finished designs and here they are.

I think they are very beautiful and I hope you like them.
