Over the years I’ve trained more than 5,000 people face-to-face, so getting back in a room with beginners at WordCamp US in Phoenix today was a real joy.
And the results were pretty great.
Across 18 learners, average confidence in the core WordPress skills we covered jumped from 2.67 → 4.16. 15/18 improved and nobody went backwards.
The bit I love most: the true beginners saw the biggest gains, going from 1.50 → 3.60.
There’s plenty to learn from the feedback, especially around giving complete beginners more time and repetition.
But days like today remind me how much I love teaching this stuff.
