Why does the Gutenberg Block Editor get such bad reviews?

Time to read:

1–2 minutes

The Gutenberg Block Editor for WordPress continues to get some pretty damming feedback on wordpress.org.

I thought it would be fun to go through the reviews of the Gutenberg block editor on WordPress.org in an attempt to understand why people don’t like it.

Here’s what I discovered 🙂

Let me know what you think.

Do you love or hate Gutenberg?

Thanks for watching,

Jamie

  1. I absolutely LOVE Gutenberg! It’s not perfect, but if you add Pootlepress’ free Caxton plugin it’s near as dammit! 🙂

I’ve been building in WordPress for over a decade. Would not swap back to classic editor if you paid me! 🙂

      100% agree Debs 🙂

  2. I’m using it on many websites because it’s not that bad (and it’s free), but we can all agree that it is 2026 and it still lacks some very important features, while the developers keep working on odd things, like that button in images that enables a duotone filter, but with no possibility to adjust the width.
