    Hi Jamie
    Sorry me again!
    I’m following your nav bar move to the right of a logo on the shop tutorial. Pasted the code in to functions.php through the dashboard editor, on saving at the first step modifying the canvas functions.php the browser locks up with a blank screen (mac & PC) and then I have no further access to the site. Via FTP I replaced the functions.php with a canvas original and I can access the site again OK. Tried it all again via FTP rather than through the dashboard and it all locks up again. Any thoughts please?

    This is the code as it appears in the canvas theme functions.php file

    Thanks
    Al

    Framework 5.3.12
    Canvas commerce 1.0.7
    Canvas 4.7.9

    I tried this before woothemes problems the last week or so and it bombs the site. Have not updated the framework yet. I only have my logo and a background repeat scan in there at the moment.

    Hi Jamie
    Tried again, bombs the site, just a white screen when putting this in canvas functions.php with woo commerce theme loaded and woo commerce plug in installed.
    Cheers

    Update
    Just out of interest I used the code from here

    http://www.woothemes.com/tutorials/move-main-nav-to-header-right-of-logo/

    in canvas function.php and it worked, tried your code again and it bombed, I have no idea why but just my experience.
    Cheers

    Hi Jamie,

    Been through your ‘How to move the Nav bar’ video tutorial for Canvas. I don’t know if things are out of date as the section ‘You can add custom functions below’ cannot be found within functions.php. Can the above coding be done through Hook Manager to save diving into the code?

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

    I’ve double checked the latest version of Canvas 5.2.3 and it is in there :)

    Can you check again your end (and make sure you have the latest version of Canvas activated).

    Ok, found it. Was looking at wrong template within Canvas.

    FYI that Woothemes link above is broken so you can’t see what the correct code is. Have submitted a request for WooThemes to look into this – hopefully they just sort out link to save you having to edit the link on your site.

    Out of interest, is it possible to code without editing Canvas’s functions.php? I’ve created a Canvas child theme so would quite like not to keep having to re-code each time there’s a Canvas update.

    Hi Paul,

    Yes you can create a functions.php in your child theme and putting any changes in there :)

    This is the way I do things on Pootlepress,

    Hi Jamie,

    Thought you’d be interested to know coding has changed for the above to work in Canvas. Here is the coding Woothemes sent me via a support case:

    Canvas v5.2 has changed the menu structure.

    add this to your themes functions.php file.

    // Remove Navigation
    remove_action( ‘woo_header_after’,’woo_nav’, 10 );

    // Add Navigation
    add_action( ‘woo_header_inside’,’woo_nav’, 10 );

    Next add this css to your themes custom.css file.

    @media only screen and (min-width: 768px) {
    #navigation {
    float: right;
    width: auto;
    clear:none;
    max-width: 600px; // This can be changed
    }
    }

    Haven’t got it to work myself yet though! Any chance of updating the video tutorial?
