I hope you are well. Please can you help. I developed a wordpress site using my 1and1 hosting account but I need to move it to host it with Vikatec. I exported the database from 1and1 into an SQL file and then ran the file in the Vikatec control panel. But there are problem with it and I cant login to the admin site either.
The site can be seen here:
This is the error message I get when trying to login to the admin site:
Internal Server Error, this is an error with your script, check your error log for more information.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Ah now I did but then when I tried to run the SQL to add my database I got errors saying the tables already existed so I then proceeded to delete all the tables. I then ran my SQL and this is what I’m left with…..February 8, 2014 at 10:48 am #11354
Are you still have problems with this? If so there are some tools and tips to make this kind of migration easier. Here are a couple of options
1) backupbuddy – this helps with migration
2) The non technical way to migrate wordpress websites – if you want to know how to do this let me know :)

Yes still having problems, would be interested to know more about option 2, the non-technical way to migrate wordpress webistes.

Here is the non technical way :)
1) Export your content from your dev site – tools /export
2) If you are using Canvas you can also export your design options
3) Install wordpress at your new hosting
4) Re-import your content at your new website (tools / import)
5) Re-import your theme and design
6) Install any plugins
7) Reset your menus
Let me know if that works for you,

Thanks very much for that. I followed your instructions but not all of my site has imported; the pages and posts are the first things I’ve noticed are missing. Any ideas where I have gone wrong?

Did you run the import content into your new website?
JamieFebruary 11, 2014 at 8:51 pm #11427
I thought I did. It looks like all it has imported is the media files. Help!!

It’s a bit hard to diagnose without spending a bit of time looking at things. Have a think about whether you want to book a bit of dev time from us so we can help more directly :)
I am planning to do a tutorial on migrating wordpress sites but it may take a few weeks before it’s live.

OK, thanks. Can you tell me how much that would cost please?
