I’m trying to insert internal page links into one of my pages and want the user to be able to jump from one row to another. I’m using Pootle Visual Editor widgets. When I update the page the changes are not saved (or not saved as I put them in). For the clickable link, I type Puppy Pre-school.
After I update the page and look at the text version inside the widget, it has reverted to Puppy Pre-school. However, if I look at the text version of the entire page, the has remained where I put it – i.e. after the words I want to be clickable. In both places the target markup has disappeared.

Then when I view the page, “Puppy Pre-school” becomes highlighted when I put the mouse over but the cursor does not change and there is no active link.

Am I using incorrect html or is there some conflict here?
