I can see from your vids how to set up various sliders but I really want to use Canvas’s new ability to display a full width slider as I’m using full width headers and footers.
It only seems possibly do this if you use the Business template for the home page, or am I missing something? Currently my page is set up using the Widgets template. Before Woo released the full width canvas slider I tried Bradley Charbonneau’s tutorial at http://wpu.me/full-width-slider-in-woo-canvas with some success, so do I need to go back to this?
Yes that’s right currently the full width slider only works with the business template – and not with woocomponent. I asked Magnus (woothemes) this question and it may be implemented in a future release.
Thanks for getting back to me. I own Wooslider and so have tried various ways of adding that as a full width slider but without sucess unfortunately. But another way of achieving the look I want would be to use a content-width slider and then have a full-width coloured background behind it – I read that this can be achieved by CSS and just wondered if you have a child theme example with the code needed?
I was trying to keep things simple plugin-wise on my site but if I can’t get Wooslider with a full width background to work then I may revert to using revolution slider – the code on Bradley’s page pasted into my child theme’s functions file seems to work OK.
