Do you have any tips and tricks for adjusting how posts are displayed on pages.
For example, at the moment categorised posts are linked to specific pages and display in a list on that page. However, they tend to change order randomly and it would good to know how to make them appear in date order.
Also, is it possible to display a thumbnail image in the list of posts without having to add an image into the post content?

If you are using categories to organise your posts then they should be appearing in date order. Do you have a link you can share.
Re thumbnail image: Yes you can do this by going to Canvas / theme options / dynamic images. Then tick where it says ‘ Automatic image thumbnail’.

Thank you for your help – I’ll have a look at the settings.
Here is the link to show how posts are displayed:
At the moment this page uses the following code to link posts for the Year 3 work category:
[srp post_limit=’10’ thumbnail_width=’120′ thumbnail_height=’120′ post_random=’yes’ post_content_length=300 category_include=15 post_date=’no’ string_break=’ (read more)’ widget_title_hide=’yes’]
Not sure whether the code can be adjusted so that the posts appear in date order?

So you are using a plugin to show the posts – you could do this by using the in-built wordpress functionality of using categories to manage where posts are displayed.
I’m guessing it’s the
that is causing the problem,

I have added some categories for posts into the menu bar, for easy navigation. How can I adjust the header displayed on the category page. At the moment it reads: ‘Archives: Children’s Work’ in black text.
I would like to be able to edit the text and change the font colour to match the rest of the site.
We use Canvas as the theme for the site.
Many thanks, HannahJanuary 25, 2013 at 1:35 am #7597
To change the font colour and size etc you go to Canvas / theme options / archives.
To change the text is slightly more difficult – I will have a think if there is an easy way :)

Can I adjust post settings so that the author is anonymous?
Should I create a new user using a cover name?

Ignore the last post, I added a nickname in user setting – simple.
