Thanks Jamie, I will give ‘ninjaforms’ a try.
Yep basically thats it in one.
Lets say Im selling home made Jumpers..
But your a dab hand with the magic needles and would like to get your fetching designs on my site. Im so busy knitting I need you to deal with supplying me the relevant content. You join/register with my site, you then create a post/advert of which includes images, video and copy. Bobs your uncle and I go off to that London about taking this little upstart public. 10% goes to one J Marsland, happily ever after :)
*Stand down captain*
Ive found the sneaky hidden setting :)
For anyone else who needs to know.
Go to Canvas settings, general settings tab, 3rd from the bottom ‘post/page comments’ choose which option suits you and your all done & dusted.
Im in love with Pootlepress today… Thanks for the rapid reply and correct answer.
The font on the widget was 13 and in canvas 14. Do I have exray eyes or what! :)
Thanks mate, thats great :)
Im also looking to remove page titles from my site. I clicked the link above for ‘page element hider’ but its dead. Do you still offer a dummy proof way to remove page titles?
Me again :)
Arhh works like a charm, brilliant thank you!
One thing I notice is that the font size within your page builder is different to the rest of my Canvas site. Its just slightly smaller. Do you know how I can make this the same as the rest of my site?
Thanks for getting back.
I will try your page builder plugin, no doubt you have a video guide on it?
I was thinking of removing there hands, there like tools right?
That would slow down there centre justified nonsense a bit :)
Anyway Ive had a discussion with the webmaster (thats me) and the overwhelming decision was to halt all so called contributors until further notice.
I think they should at least sit a test before muddying up the clear calm waters I create.
I found this site that does the ‘polaroid’ effect to images.
It works great and its free.
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your opinion ! :)
Thanks Jamie :)
Do you still consider this the right way to go or would you now choose a one page theme from the off?
Jamie please can you direct me to the canvas one pager tutorial + plugin you mention above?
I asked about a one page site last summer. Is your answer still current?
Do you still use Canvas for a one pager or has something better come out?
No not really.
Hard code sounds.. hard.
Who makes the custom menu widget?
For once I think of something not already done to death.
Im surprised there is no easy way to manipulate posts around various pages.
With regards the Foxlowe website. The foxlowe put on lots of different kinds of events.
So knitting classes to live bands, all different kinds of art displays and workshops. The list is massive.
They were using an event plugin called ‘events’ by timely. I find this clunky and ugly as hell. I want to promote the various foxlowe events via posts. I can write much more with a post and include multiple images and video clips.
I fancy a random magazine layout similar to Woo Themes ‘Jotter’ for my posts with these event posts having there own sub menu so I can view only ‘cinema’ events or what ever the category might be.
Come on Jamie, tell me this is all already available and send me a link and how to video :)
Ideally what Im after is a page for all my posts and a menu for my post categories within this page only.
So page builder would be ideal to set the page up with various post categories but how do I create a new menu for my categories that only shows on this page?
Thanks, watched the tutorial and all is a lot clearer :)
So I can now have a page showing which ever post category I like or multiples. Thats sorted :)
Now what I would like is for the posts from one category to show up on a page in a double column but not one column per category. 1 page, 1 category but appearing spread out over my page in 2 columns or 3 if were feeling flash.
Is this possible?
I have a menu tab showing ‘X’ posts and these posts are in a single column showing a thumbnail image and an excerpt of text. Perfecto-mondo this all looks brill.
It would be ideal then if my next menu tab that shows ‘Y’ posts appeared slightly differently. So if these posts showed on the page in 2 columns it would be different on the eye and you would know your on a different tab.
I wouldnt want all my menu pages all showing posts in the same way, that would be boring and silly.
The new version of page builder works fine.
There is no more conflict when making a post.
Brother what about page build blocking post content ?
Yes as above.
Pagebuilder is dominating the post area.
By default it opens on pagebuilder. Unless I hit the x and turn it off prior to publishing then pagebuilder blocks the post content and the post appears blank.
As said I think you set up pagebuilder so my posts appear in a 2 column format.
Is there a cleaner way to achieve this 2 column format?
Further my man on this particular page (news blog) how do I set it so certain post categories appear on this page?
You have done this for me but Im keen to know.
When I look at the page (news blog) its blank and shows no mention of posts at all.
What say you Jamie? :)
