Hi everyone – this is my first post and I just want to say I think the video tutorials are amazing!
I’m having a problem with the Woothemes Shortcode Button that is on the formatting toolbar when inserting page content. I’m desperate to create a FAQ page but when I click the icon, although the menu of shortcodes appears, none of the options works – nothing happens at all. I am using Google Chrome but have also tried this in Internet Explorer. Any ideas would be much appreciated.April 16, 2013 at 1:48 pm #8425
Welcome to the forums – and thank you for your kind words on the Video Tutorials :)
Could you try downloading Firefox and seeing if you still have the same issue.

Hi Jamie – yes, same problem in Firefox – nothing at all happens when I click any of the menu items. :(April 16, 2013 at 5:16 pm #8432
Have you added any plugins – if so one of these could be causing the problem. If you are could you deactivate one at a time and see if this fixes things.

I’ve tried that with all plugins except two – the WooDoJo which I’ve used a lot on the site and one called Cufon which I really need because I have a font that I must use. I’ve got people looking at the site this evening so I don’t want to break anything important while they might be looking! If I deactivate and reactivate these plugins, will they have to be reset again from scratch or do they remember all the settings?
Thanks JamieApril 18, 2013 at 6:10 am #8438
Hi Jamie – I have now tried deactivating all the plugins and still the Woothemes Shortcode Button doesn’t work :( Any other ideas gratefully received!

Running short of ideas this end :(
How about if you create a page called test page and send me login details (to email@example.com) and I will try and replicate from this end?

Yes same problem for me. It all looks ok from this end.
Could you try using the main canvas theme and not the child theme and see if this is causing the problem. It doesn’t look like you have any customisations in the child theme yet?
btw I really like the website!

Thanks Jamie! I have to go out right now, but when I get home I will try your suggestion and let you know how I get on. :)April 18, 2013 at 3:49 pm #8443
Hi again Jamie. I tried activating the canvas theme and ignoring my child theme but sadly this didn’t make any different either. I had already sent a support ticket to Woothemes and they have responded saying it may be an issue with my server. A bit vague I feel – don’t know if there’s anyway around that one do you?
Anyhoo – they also sent me a link to a shortcodes page where apparently there are instructions for adding the codes directly. Bit of a shame really and I’ll have to try and get my head around it when I get a minute.
In the meantime if you have any more moments of inspiration about this I’d love to hear them.
Thanks for your help :)April 19, 2013 at 8:02 am #8472
Sorry to hear that didn’t fix things.
Out of interest, who are you hosting with ?

Just saw this. You need to update the WooFramework… was driving me mad this one!
Go into Canvas (or whichever WooThemes theme you are using) and find the WooFramework update link.
Let me know if it works…

I added a couple of plug-ins TinyMCE Advanced and TinyMCA Color Picker to get back some of the functionality that was lost in last update ;-DJune 10, 2014 at 8:57 am #13745
