    Hi Jamie
since upgrading to Canvas 5.6.3 my slideshows have grown larger! I resized all the images before I uploaded them and I remember the last time I upgraded the theme the same things happened. I changed the slides back to normal, but I can’t remember what I did. I tried changing the settings but can’t find a resizer at all.

I want them to be the same size as the ones on this page http://www.spellzoo.co.uk/single_activities_example/
rather than the size they are now. I think you still have login and admin rights on the site, in case you need them.

Any ideas what I can do?

    Thanks

    Hi Sue,

Have you tried making the slider pictures the correct size outsite of WordPress. This way you can be sure they will be the right height once you have inserted them.

Let me know if that makes sense,

    Hi Jamie,
yes I did that before I inserted them. I had made that mistake when I made the first slideshow and it was huge. I’ve taken the slide shows out and deleted and reloaded the images, but no luck. I’ve searched everywhere for an answer, but can’t see a solution. I remember the same thing happened when I upgraded and it was relatively simple to get them back to the same size.

    Hi Sue,

What size (in pixels) are your sliders?

    Hi Sue,

I’ve run a quick test this end and the sliders are adapting to the size of their container (i.e full width). That’s why they are so big.

One way to fix this (this is not the most elegant solution) is to use the 2 column shortcode and put the slider into the left hand column.

Let me know if that makes sense,

    Hi Jamie

I understand what you mean, but not quite sure how to do this!

    Hi Jamie

had a go and this is how it turns out on the Y1 page, http://www.spellzoo.co.uk/year-1-spellings-new-curriculum/ not quite what I had in mind – I did want it centred, but it’s better than the large slideshow – thanks!

    Hi Jamie

this page is exactly how I wanted it http://www.spellzoo.co.uk/year-2-spellings-new-curriculum/ but none of the others look like this. I’ll have to look to see what is different about this one! Annoying or what? :)

    Thanks for your help.

    Sue
