    WooCommerce – hide "Shop" page 2

    I need to make my Shop page unavailable until a user has logged in. So when they click on the Shop link in my primary nav they are redirected to the My Account page to either login or register for a new account.

    I found a suggestion on wordpress (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/need-to-hide-woocommerce-shop-page-to-non-members) It is this:

    Copy archive-product.php to my child theme and add this code to the very top.

    <?php
    if( !is_user_logged_in() ) {
    wp_redirect(get_permalink(8));
    }
    else{

    The “8” is my post ID for the My Account page.

    When I’ve done this the result when I click on the Shop link is a blank page.

    Can you help?

    Hi Jill,

    Are you using a membership plugin with this code?

    In the time that has passed since the original post I have been trying to use Woothemes Catalog Visibility which allows for Location Filtering and doesn’t hide the Shop but makes the pricing unavailable until the user logins in. This is working pretty on a test site.

    I may need to add a membership plugin in the future as well. Can you recommend one that’s not to complicated but offers a solid stable of features?

    Hi Jill,

    Here’s a membership plugin I would recommend – Restrict Content Pro http://pippinsplugins.com/restrict-content-pro-premium-content-plugin/.

    We’ve just done a tutorial for Restrict Content Pro and it will be coming out this week for Academy members :)

    Hi, there’s another plugin which makes this even easier – https://barn2.co.uk/wordpress-products/woocommerce-private-store. WooCommerce Private Store password protects a whole WooCommerce store including the shop page and all your products, categories, tags, WooCommerce menu items, WooCommerce widgets etc. It also hides the WooCommerce content from search engines so it’s really secure and easier to set up than having separate logins for each user. Hope this helps!
