    Hi Jamie,
After a couple of days playing around I’ve learnt a bit more about Canvas but I’ve not reached a solution to my needs. I am trying to display a single mainpage with two columns. The two-column option in Layout is effectively a main content window and a widget sidebar but this sidebar will show the 2nd column content on each page of the site (and gets half pushed off the page in Explorer but not Chrome) .
I don’t really need more than one page for this site but if there’s a (not too advanced) method of disabling the widget sidebar on the homepage only & having multiple pages that would help.
I’ve tried stuff on pages 2 & 3 etc. but then deleted all but the mainpage, problem now is that the menu bar shows ‘Home’ and also the ‘mainpage’ – I might start again from scratch to sort that.
If canvas or another theme can do the one page / two column that would be a big help (and time saver) rather than going back to a basic html page.

    Best regards
    Nigel, still the Fishmonger.

    Hi Nigel,

Yes this is straightforward in Canvas. Go to the edit screen of any page, scroll the bottom of the page and you will see that you can change the layout per page. So you can make a page full width and then use the woo column shortcode to divide that page into 2 columns.

Let me know if that makes sense,

    Jamie

    Marvellous stuff, thanks Jamie.
    Some busy days ahead :-)

    Here’s the shortcode from Woo:

    [twocol_one]

Pellentesque risus diam vestibulum phasellus, aliquam vivamus, tempus urna habitant tempus a et, aliquam maecenas molestie nullam.

    [/twocol_one]

    [twocol_one_last]

Pellentesque risus diam vestibulum phasellus, aliquam vivamus, tempus urna habitant tempus a et, aliquam maecenas molestie nullam.

    [/twocol_one_last]
