    Hi

I wish to create a static front page which I can manage without problem as I do not have a “blog” on the site.

However the site has a slider on the existing “Home Page” and if I create a new page as the new front page I am unsure on how to copy the content particularly  the slider so I need help please.

The theme I am using is Woothemes Empire

    Thanks Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

    1) If the site has an existing slider then you could just replace it with your new slider. Check on the left menu to see if there is a slides menu. In there should be your existing home page slider.

    Here are woo’s instructions http://www.woothemes.com/support/theme-documentation/empire/

Let me know if that makes sense,

    Jamie

    Hi Jamie

Thanks for your prompt reply. I think I may be confusing you as I am myself !

Basically the only page on the site with a slider is on the home page created by woothemes when I downloaded theme so none of the pages I have created have a slider. However I was under the impression that wordpress recognises this page as a post and it is necessary to amend front page to a static page so I was going to create a new “Home Page”  for it to be the static front page.

So really I dont know how to install a slider on a “page”

The website in question is http://www.camerataxiinsurance.co.uk

Hope im not talking rubbish !

    Thanks Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

I’ve just taken a quick look.

I’ve not used Empire before but here are my assumptions.

    1) By default your homepage is pre set and includes a slider

2 ) You can’t add sliders to other pages – unless you use a plugin like wooslider.

    3) To add new content below your slider you do via pages. At the moment your content under the slider is coming from the Page ‘smart witness’. This is set in Empire/Theme Options/Layout settings.

Let me know if that makes sense :)

    Jamie
