1) Remove subscribe rss: Go to Canvas / theme options / layout / Primary navigation. In Primary Navigation, untick ‘Show the Subscribe to RSS link in right navigation’.
2) Footer: Go to Canvas / theme options / Footer customisation. In Footer customisation tick ‘enable custom footer left’ and tick ‘enable custom footer right’. This will get rid of the custom branding, and you can also put your own words in here if you wish.
I’ve created a navigation menu under my header (with ‘ home’ , ‘about us’ etc) but there’s an extra empty tab after the last one. It did have the RSS symbol in it until I removed it as per your answer above, but I can’t work out how to remove the now empty tab?
The empty tab is part of the theme design. The menu is designed to grow from the left as you add menu items. If you wanted to get rid of the border to the right of the last menu item you would need some custom coding. Alternatively you could remove all the menu dividers through Canvas /theme options /primary navigation.
Unfortunately it’s a bit more complex as you would need to decide how you want the menu to flow. i.e do you want it centred or just to remove the divider lines. I generally go with the menu as is – this makes it easier to grow and reduce menu items and the website develops.
