    Hi Jamie,

Great tutorial on Restricted Content Pro. I just have a few questions to make sure it will do all that I want it to of a membership site, please. Basically I want it to manage a few hundred users (who have already paid their subscriptions ‘offline’) so for the purposes of this they would be marked as ‘free’, I guess?

Is it possible for me to register them all myself from the dashboard (preferably in bulk) and then separately notify them of their login details? (They already have usernames/passwords from the previous website so it’s just a case of applying them to this one too!) I also don’t want strangers to be able to register for free and access the content – they need to be ‘accepted’ internally first so I would prefer to not offer the ‘Register’ page, just the ‘Login’ one. Is this possible?

When their payment lapses will I be able to remove/suspend their access details manually myself?

All these users would then have a few posts/pages of restricted content, but primarily I would want it to restrict access to a large number of uploaded pdf documents. If I attached them to the relevant restricted pages/posts, would that make them restricted too? Or is there an alternative?

I realise this is quite a big ask of a plugin! Do you think this one will do all this for me, or can you recommend a better one?

    Many thanks

Jamie – are you able to give me some guidance on my previous questions regarding this plugin? Many thanks, Verity

    Hi Verity,

    Here are your answers :)

    1) Yes i think that would be the best approach – add the members manually yourself and set them as free

    2) Yes add them manually yourself via the dashboard. I’m not sure whether this is possible to do as a bulk import. Might be worth an email to Pippin the plugin author on this one.

    3) Yes you don’t have to offer a register page – the easiest way is just not to add it

    4) Yes once payment lapses you can remove members manually

    5) Yes that’s the easiest way to protect the pdf’s – as you say just protect the pages they are attached to

Let me know if that all makes sense :)
