    Hi Jamie

    How do I remove the home heading from the page? To clarify, I want to click on the menu that says Home but I want to remove the ‘home’ heading from the top of the page.

    Many thanks

    Kerry

    Hi Kerry,

    Use this custom css. Put this in your custom.css file. I am assuming you are using Canvas, but let me know if not. Go to Dashboard, Appearance, Editor. Find the file called custom.css (at the bottom of page) and past code in there. You will need to reload your home page to see it work.

    .home .title {
    display:none;
    }

    Hi Jamie

    No, Im not using Canvas, I’m using a commercial theme I purchased.

    I went into editor and added the custom css at the bottom of (style.css) sheet but it didn’t work. I’ve seen other sites using this theme that have managed to do it so there must be a way. Do I need to contact the theme provider?

    Thank you
    Kerry

    Hi Jamie

    I have another problem! I can’t get rid of the date on my posts. The box in widgets (right side bar) that says post date is unticked but they are still there. Any idea?

    Thank you
    Kerry

    Hi Kerry,

    First install Jetpack, as this has a plugin that lets you add custom css. Then add this code to the jetpack css.

    Let me know how you go :)

    #content article h1 a {
    display: none;
    }

    Looks like I fixed this for you :)

    Please take a look. You may need to clear the cache on your browser and reload the page to see it take effect.

    That’s great thank you so much.
    Just out of interest for future website, if I wanted to only remove the Home heading and not all the others, what would be the CSS code?

    Also I’ve noticed my post dates are still there. Anyway to get rid of these?

    Finally I have put the headings ‘privacy policy’ and ‘Contact’ on my menu but these are not showing. I note it looks as if there is something below my home heading so I’m not sure if it has tried to put them on the next line. ???

    Sorry for so many questions I appreciate your help :-)

    Hi Kerry,

    I’ve just fixed the heading issue for you.

    Yes your menu is wrapping onto the second line because your theme can’t support that many menu items.

    Jamie
