    Hi

I have a new site I’m working with using the Woo ‘For The Cause’ theme. I cannot set up the footer items properly, can’t work out the reason why. I’ve attached a very short video to better illustrate the problem and current layout settings. Any help gratefully received.

    Hi Nic,

Firstly that’s the best explanation we’ve ever had on the forum :)

    Looks a bit strange.

One thing you could try is this…instead of using widgets for your footer – you could create your twitter widget (at twitter) and then insert the resultant html into the footer area left. Then you could use contact form shortcode to do the same in the right footer area.

Let me know if that makes sense,
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie

Thanks, I’m glad my problem made sense to you.

I’ve been to Twitter and have the HTML code (starting <a href=”https:/ ….)

When I pop that into the custom text (left) box I simply get the code appearing in the ‘extra’ section to the left of the two intended footer columns.

Can I add some code around to effect the change from it being seen as simple text to being recognised as a widget?

It doesn’t look like that is going to get rid of the ‘spare’ column :(

Thanks for the fast response and I’m glad you like the look of the site. More content and styling required but so far I’m very pleased.

    Hi Nic,

Sorry about the delay in replying – are you still having the issue?

Are you creating your twitter widgets here https://twitter.com/settings/widgets

That code looks a bit odd,

    Jamie

    Hi Jamie

No worries I know you’ll be busy :)

Yes the problem persists and yes that’s where I created my widget.

    Nic
