Hi there guys. How would I go about making my WordPress.org site entirely private so only people who login could see it?

Its http://www.rogersons.org.uk which you will see I just want to use as a glorified Website Favourite Links/Family website and also partially WordPress practise site.

So as its really for family only and not a business I am promoting, generally I don’t want the public seeing it. Cheers Darren

    Hi Darren,

Here’s a free plugin that will do this for you https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-members/

Hi Jamie, I downloaded the plug in and activated it. You can see how it is working so far at http://www.rogersons.org.uk so I need to tinker with it to get it how I want it.

What I am really wanting is to see a WordPress type Login screen at the actual domain address and once signed in a user can then have access to the normal site. Is that possible?

The type that you would normally get at http://www.domain.com/wp-admin but I’d like to see it at http://www.domain.com. Cheers

    Hi Darren,

You might need a more advanced membership plugin like restrict content pro http://jamiemarsland.wpengine.com/shop/18-tags/

Alternatively you could use a theme like Divi from elegant themes that has a login module,

    Jamie
