I am curious if anyone has had the same experience for this problem. I created a canvas child theme but was not able to see all the features in the parent canvas them. My understanding is that, a child theme is supposed to be an exact copy of the parent theme, except that when you open the Edit file, you can save all the customisation in one place without touching the original file. This way, when you update a theme, the changes you have made to your site are safe. But this was not my experience when I created a child them for canvas. I had to reactivate the canvas theme in order to see the features of the theme that I couldn’t find in the canvas child theme. By the way, the canvas child theme was created based on the one-click child theme installation tutorial on Poodle Press.

I would appreciate any explanation you have.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

It sounds like the Child theme creation did not work. You could try doing in manually as outlined here http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
