Hi Jamie, I want to change the colour on our existing websit, http://www.stjohnrctamworth.org.uk. I have looked at the academy training videos but it seems to say you can only do it if you have ‘woo themes’. Can I do it without this? My dashboard/Appearance doesn’t look anything like the academy videos, I have: Themes 6, Add New, then there’s a search box ‘installed themes’. I have looked at new ‘plugins’ there are ones on there but not sure (if any) I would need to add. I have hit the upgrade icon, which tells me I have version 3.8.3. I would just like to have a way of being in control of the colours on the site. If I have to purchase Canvas, where do I get it? and what is the cost? Thanks Wendy

    Hi Wendy,

Your theme dictates what your website looks like. Certain themes give you control over changing colours, some themes don’t. Here at PootlePress we love Canvas because it gives you lots of lots of control to change the design of your website without having to learn any code.

Canvas costs $99 and you can buy it from WooThemes.com

Let me know if that makes sense :)

Hi Jamie, thanks for that, yes it did make sense. I have looked at the Appearance button on our website and I cant see that it give’s me any option’s on colour. If I purchased Canvas could I incorporate it into our website as it is now? without it changing anything? I am a little nervous about doing this in case I lose or change the website (not for the good) altogether! I just want to have more control over the ‘look’ of the website, and I know from my day with you that, another plus with purchasing Canvas, would mean that I could have photos moving in and out rather than being static, as they are at the moment. I want to make the wed site more attractive and/also have the capacity to change it occasional to make it more interesting to look at.

    Hi Wendy,

If you change theme it will change the design of your website – but yes Canvas will give you 100% control going forward and it comes with lots of goodies to help you create a professional looking website.

    Jamie
