    I have just created my first site over the weekend (thank you Jamie) so I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself.

    Just a few niggles left.
    There is a site search in the side bar, do I want it? can I remove it?

    It also has a white circle with 3 orange diagonal curves??? when I click it sends to scripting saying XML file with nothing associated. Can anyone enlighten me?
    I can’t find either of these in the dashboard.

    Many thanks
    Emma

    Hi Emma,

    It sounds like the site search should be in a widget? Have you checked there?

    Could you share a link to your site so I can take a look if that doesn’t work.

    Jamie

    ps well done on creating your first website!

    Its a basic site, I just need to finish a video to upload to the home page and connect a few links…and find this search widget

    I’m wondering if it might be part of the theme set up?

    Hi Emma,

    It looks like if it’s not in your primary sidebar as a widget then it might be hard coded. If you want me to take a quick look could you email login details to @pootlepress.co.uk">jamie@pootlepress.co.uk

    Hi Emma,

    Yes it looks like the search is hard coded into the theme.

    You would need some css to remove. Something like the following.

    #sidebar_search_social {

    display:none;

    }

    Great thanks for looking, I have no idea what you are on about with css so I think I’ll leave it there and just ignore it for now! Emma
