    Hi Jamie

I’ve only just realised that I can’t use the add media button on the Canvas theme. I’ve been trying to use the WooSlider but that wasn’t allowing me to add the slides either. I’ve been watching the videos in the Academy and I realised things weren’t working yesterday. I don’t know how long they haven’t been working for, as I used the HTML uploader for images.
I changed back to the twentytwelve theme and the media upload worked on that, changing back to Canvas and it no longer worked.

We changed to Heartinternet hosting yesterday, as I thought it might have been a problem with 1&1.

Hope you can offer some sort of solution. Thanks

    Sue

    Hi Sue,

First thing to check is that you are using the latest version of Canvas. I believe it’s 5.5.7.

Let me know how you go,

    Jamie

Hi Jamie, it is that version, and 3.8.1 WordPress as well.

    Hi Sue,

Sounds a bit strange. Do you have any plugins installed ?

    Hi Jamie

well the shop part of the site is now working, – had to roll it back to Friday. WooCommerce updated the plugin and there is a duplicate code somewhere, but Andrew managed to sort that out. However, I still can’t use the addmedia button in the Canvas theme, but I can if I go back to twentyten. I did send a list of the plugins that I had on the site in the email attachment. I did try deactivating them but nothing seemed to work.

I bought WooSlider thinking that it would help me with putting slides on the site, but I’ve not had that much chance to try it out yet.

When things go wrong I tend to go into panic mode first and then calm down! We have moved to Heartinternet now and I did think that that might have helped with the addmedia, in case it was a 1&1 issue, but so far nothing!

Wondering if I could change back to twentyten whilst I make the slideshows and add them to the site and then change back to Canvas. Is that a possibility?

    Thanks

    Sue

    Hi Sue,

You could try that but it’s a bit worrying that the add media button isn’t working. Have you tried using a different browser / or computer.

I would quite like to take a quick look – if you want me to could you send login details to @pootlepress.co.uk">jamie@pootlepress.co.uk

    Hi Jamie

managed to sort it by deactivating a plug in. I thought I had checked all of them, but missed one! Now I have got the slideshows that I want one the pages that I want. Well, just playing about with them checking to see if they are OK. So far they seem to be working exactly as I want. I did uninstall and then re-install Canvas, so perhaps that helped as well.

    Thanks again

Great stuff – it would be really useful to know what was the offending plugin ?
