I have installed the bbpress plugin, and watched the Academy videos on using bbpress to add forums to a website NUMEROUS times. I have tried to replicate the process, also numerous times, and cannot get my forums to address and display properly.

    The symptoms are:

    Say my website is abc.com.
I create my forum page as abc.com/forums/.
I add abc.com/forums/ to my menu structure as a custom URL.
When I create forums, the URL generated is abc.com/forums/forum/forum-name.

Why is /forum being appended, and how do I fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hi Charlene,

BBPress will create the page dynamically i think. Could you email me your login details and I’ll take a quick look for you :)

    Hi Charlene,

I’ve added the forum index shortcode to your forums page so the forum is now coming into the forums page. However you also will need to add our BBPress + Canvas child theme for this to work properly, as BBPress and Canvas don’t work together ‘out of the box’ :)

    It’s free and here’s the link http://jamiemarsland.wpengine.com/shop/woothemes-canvas-and-bbpress-fix/

There are lots of other shortcodes with BBPress that you can use should you wish http://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/

fyi we are releasing this as a plugin very soon but for now you’ll need the theme.
