Reply To: Twenty Eleven Theme

It was around all the different features it has and just like Canvas, you can use sliders etc.

Ideally, what I need to learn is ‘Custom Features’ because I really can’t get my head around those. Menus I’m sort of understanding and played around with that recently. I would love to know how to just put different wee touches into themes using Custom Features/Menus etc.

I just want to learn how to make lovely sites with WordPress so it’s probably more about cosmetic things with me as opposed to technical. I do like to learn wee bits of technical stuff too though :)

The TwentyEleven Theme highlights these features which really interest me. Don’t put yourself out though Jamie as I know you’re really busy but when you get a bit of time, it might be interesting to learn about this theme a bit more.

Twenty Eleven comes equipped with a Showcase page template that transforms your front page into a showcase to show off your best content, widget support galore (sidebar, three footer areas, and a Showcase page widget area), and a custom “Ephemera” widget to display your Aside, Link, Quote, or Status posts. Included are styles for print and for the admin editor, support for featured images (as custom header images on posts and pages and as large images on featured “sticky” posts), and special styles for six different post formats.

Thanks and no rush Jamie – let me master this Canvas Theme first :)
